Is Dimethicone Toxic or Safe?

First you should know that my hair LOVES silicones. Or more accurately, I love the way my hair feels and looks with silicone on it.  Dimethicone helps my hair look good, feel soft, untangled and shiney. So I need to know, is dimethicone toxic? What is Silicone? Silicones represents a large group of synthetic materials. They are polymers. Polymers exist both naturally and synthetically. They  include things like the natural polymer keratin that make hair and nails and the synthetic nylon in your raincoat. Silicone is made up of both organic and inorganic materials. They can be made with a

Link Between Antiperspirants and Breast Cancer

Angie wrote to me recently: I wanted to tell you that my deodorant is still working great and I love it!! Have you tried to sell this at Cancer treatment centers? If not, you should. There are so many young women getting breast cancer, it’s the 3 negative kind. No one knows why they are getting it and I truly believe it’s due to the hormones in foods, preservatives, aluminum, etc. Girls are getting their periods sooner and having to use deodorant much younger these days. I really believe that this could be a cause for breast cancer. Your deodorant really

Why Doesn’t Flower Garden Scent Last as Long as the Original Scent?

La Shea writes: I’ve purchased both the flower garden scent and the original scent. The orginal deodorant’s scent lasts all day long! The flower garden scent does not….also about a month or so after I started using, the bottle just didn’t smell “flowery” anymore and I had to add some oils to it. It’s not a complaint, I just wanted to know if there’s a reason that particular scent isn’t as strong? I wrote back: Hi thank you for letting me know you noticed this because I agree. The flowery scented essential oils just don’t last very long. It has

Pump Bottle or Squeeze?

Jasmine writes: I just had a quick question for you. I just purchased your original body brew (and am elicited to try it!) and saw that it comes in the pump form. I was looking through your shop and noticed that one of the other brews, flower garden I believe, comes in a bottle with a flip top lid. Is that the only brew that comes in a flip lid, or will the original body brew come in that container sometime soon? I wrote: Good question. Normally I send the original in a pump but the way things worked, I

SPIROLINA IN BATH AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Spirolina is a single celled organism that grows in warm water that is high in alkaline. It is bright blue green and it is referred to as blue green algae sometimes.  It isn’t really an algae, scientifically speaking. The Aztecs used it as a food source until the 16th century when it is likely that Lake Texcoco stopped producing it. Lots of studies have explored the potential of using it as a supplement and research has found no ill effects or toxicity with internal ingestion. I can find very little reliable evidence that Spirolina is definitely good for your skin or

Oil to Prevent Blackheads and Milia

The idea of cleansing your face with oil to prevent blacheads and Milia may sound strange to some people but for some reason when I first heard about the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) or Oil Cleansing Treatment (OCT) it made some kind of sense to me. Oil cleans oil, I’ve known this for a long time and often use oil to remove other old or unwanted oils on objects. Oils have worked well to remove tar from my feet and even had some impact on getting it off towels. It also works to get off sticky substances off of objects or

Under Arm Darkening

Christina wrote and said: Hi I do want to tell you that first off I really do love the products I purchased from you. Especially the deodorant.. BUT I am noticing that it is causing darkening of my skin obviously my underarms. What I do is I’ll just skip a couple days of deodorant all together since your formula has done something where I don’t need to all the time. After skipping the darkening goes away. Has anyone else had this issue? Any recommendations? Thanks so much for reaching out and asking about this. Actually, I had that issue early

Customer Tells me About How She Adjusted to baking Soda Deodorant

Becky wrote to me and said: I absolutely LOVE your deodorant! It took me a while to get used to it (I had a pretty bad reaction to it at first). But, it’s the only deodorant that has EVER worked!! I was interested how she continued to use it, even though she had a bad reaction to it.   I wrote: I’m curious, do you have any insights into what you did to get used to it? People write and ask me what they should do when they rash, saying they love my deodorant but are getting rashes. I try

Carotenoid Rich Sea BuckThorn Oil

Sea Buckthorn Oil has been used by Tibetans for centuries for health and the treatment of illness. Russians used Sea Buckthorn oil to treat Chernobyl radiation exposure. Interestingly, one of my clients tells me her father grew Sea Buckthorn. He was a nuclear physicist and used it in an ointment to treat radiation burns.  Because of the reports of how helpful Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil is, I use it in many of my products. I include it in my Face Serum, my face lotion and other products. Not only is the oil a gorgeous red color, it leaves my face

Eczema Cures Around the World and Web

I have been working hard on offering different ways to help relieve the symptoms of Eczema which you can find out more about here: Dealing with Eczema. Eczema probably impacts more people around the world than any other skin disorder.  Of course the term eczema is a pretty broad term for dermatitis.  According to rightdiagnosis.com, approximately 1 in 18 people suffer from eczema in the United States alone.  That’s about 15 million people! With that many people, you’d think there would be thousands of solutions, right? Well, yes and no. There may be a 1000 solutions but perhaps it is
