Breathe deep. It smells like the mountains after a storm. My Himalayan Mist Soap captures the stillness that follows a rain shower, when the clouds drift apart, the air sparkles, and the world smells like wet cedar and clean earth. To recreate that moment, I blended Himalayan cedarwood essential oil with a crisp, rain-inspired fragrance. The result is cool, grounding, and refreshingly light. Whether you are starting the day or rinsing it away, this bar helps clear your head and your skin.

A Gentle, Moisturizing Clean

Crafted to be kind to your skin, Himalayan Mist Soap is superfatted for extra gentleness, meaning it is rich in oils that stay behind to moisturize and nourish. Even better, it works beautifully in the bath or at the sink. Although bars may naturally lose a bit of water during curing, they last just as long and lather just as richly. Most weigh between 4.5 to 5oz and improve with age.

The Heart of Olive Oil

As with all my soaps, Himalayan Mist Soap begins with olive oil, a longtime favorite for creating creamy, conditioning lather. While more exotic oils are out there, few match olive oil’s perfect balance of affordability, skin benefits, and bar longevity. It is truly the foundation of a gentle, effective clean.

Coconut & Castor = A Beautiful Balance

Next, to create that bubbly, satisfying lather, I add coconut oil, a natural cleanser with strong foaming power. However, because coconut oil can be too cleansing on its own, I carefully blend it with castor oil. Even in small amounts, castor adds creamy richness and helps those bubbles last longer. Together, they strike the perfect balance between cleansing and comfort.

Always Sustainable Palm Oils

Palm oil is ideal for soapmaking. It adds firmness, helps balance the lather, and keeps the bar long-lasting. That said, I never choose palm oil just for performance. Instead, I exclusively use organic and sustainably sourced palm oils from CFC Inc. (Columbus Vegetable Oils)—a USDA-certified supplier and proud RSPO member.

As the World Wildlife Fund notes, sustainable palm oil actually does more good than harm, especially when compared to switching to lesser-regulated crops. That is a shift I proudly support.

Why I Use Beeswax

To further enhance the texture and longevity of Himalayan Mist Soap, I include just a bit of beeswax. It helps harden the bar and creates a rich, creamy lather. Although I explored vegan alternatives, none quite matched the natural benefits of beeswax. That’s why I choose to source it from local beekeepers who care deeply for their hives and harvest ethically.

Essential Oils & Fragrance You Can Trust

Naturally, I reach for essential oils whenever I can, and I only use phthalate-free fragrance oils that I have tested on myself. If something causes a headache or feels too artificial, I will not use it. In this case, I paired Himalayan cedarwood essential oil with a fresh, rain-like scent that evokes wide open skies, clean mountain air, and the peace that follows a good storm.
