Description

This massage Oil with Himalayan Salt and Amethyst Crystals is natural massage oil that is blended for perfect consistency with oils that resist rancidity. I personally hate the smell of massage oil on my sheets and this will help.  I’ve blended three oils with long shelf lives and great skin benefits together to make what I consider to be the perfect massage oil.

Not only that but you can custom blend  2 essential oils to add to your massage oil. Presently you can pick one. If you’d like a second of those listed, please add a note to your order.

This is an 8 oz glass bottle with a plastic pump. These bottles have a wide base. We can send you a plastic refill pouch if requested.

Oil Blend

Fractionated Coconut Oil is a coconut oil that is a light, odorless oil that absorbs very nicely and because it doesn’t contain unsaponifiables and solids, has a very long shelf life.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is a lovely thin oil easily absorbed so it is perfectly paired with the thick, and also long lasting, Castor Oil.

Castor Oil creates a wonderful massage oil consistency. It is also an old-fashioned remedy for muscle aches and pains. Castor Oil was recommended by my curmudgeonly step-grandfather who lived until he was 98, built his own house in his late 70’s (Including hand digging the 10 foot basement/foundation) and was hand building a new dock in the water when he passed. It’s been used since 2000 B.C.E in India and 4000B.C.E in Egypt. Ayurvedic medicine sees castor oil as the king for curing arthritic diseases. Skin loves long-lasting castor oil.

Jojoba oil rounds out the massage blend because of its very long shelf life and how much our skin loves it due to how similar it is to skin’s natural oils and waxes.

Salt and Crystals

Massage Oil with Himalayan Salt and Amethyst Crystals because… honestly? It felt right. Crystals can cleanse and help positively guide vibrational energy and I think I’ve felt that. Is it scientific? Nope. Do salt crystals and amethyst crystals seem kind of magical? Absolutely!

We offer the following essential oils:
Cedarwood – Himalayan
Cinnamon Clove – Cinnamon with smaller amount of clove.
Eucalyptus – Cleansing and medicinal smelling
Fir Tree – My favorite, smells like a christmas tree to me.
Frankincense – spicey and light, not overwhelming in my opinion
Lavender – smells like lavender
Lemongrass – one of our top smells, best choice for what the most people like
Orange – Sweet Orange smells lovely but doesn’t last very long as a scent.
Patchouli – Long lasting, earthy. some people love it (me) others don’t. Associated with hippies.
Peppermint – just like peppermint because it is.
Rose Blend – Rose Geranium, Rosewood, Palmarosa and Petitgrain.
Sage & Ginger – particularly spiritually healing
Tea Tree – medicinal, not my favorite smell but good for people who might have some body acne.
Turmeric & Lime – The turmeric has a light earthy smell so it needs something to go with it, I chose lime but this is a choice if you want more turmeric in your life.
Ylang Ylang Bergamot – I am not the biggest fan of Ylang Ylang but some people love it.

I can’t get the website to accept picking two combinations easily so for now can you write a note if you want a second essential oil when you order?  Thank you!

Keep in mind, you are responsible for whether you will like the scent.

You may find the scent of the essential oils is pretty light. If you order essential oils to be added, we add no more than 2% of essential oil and no less then 1% (depending on the essential oil). This is the amount recommended by most essential oil experts as more can cause sensitivities.

Organic and Sustainable Palm Oil

Ziryab’s only uses organic and sustainable palm oil and palm kernel oil. I believe in supporting the existing sustainable and organic palm industry rather than moving the problem if exotic vegetable oils to another, less well known area of the world.  Please see my blog about the sustainable palm oil

Black Lives Matter

I have witnessed how black lives are undervalued in our society to the point where a black person is more likely to die earlier than I am. I believe: North America owes a debt to the ancestors of the Africans kidnapped and enslaved. That Black Americans and Canadians are treated
