OIL PULLING Ayurvedic Mouth Swish
Ayurvedic Oil Pulling is the practice of swishing oil in your mouth or pulling the oil through your teeth. It is a novel but effective way of cleansing and detoxing your mouth and teeth.
High-End Organic Oils
I’ve blended high-end and traditional oils and essential oils with cocoa powder to create a mouth swish that is effective and pleasant tasting. Just two minutes is helpful to the mouth but many ayurvedic practitioners who are interested in fully detoxing the body practice oil-pulling for longer.
I blend organic extra virgin coconut oil for a nice taste with the traditional oil of organic sesame seed oil. Then I add this base Hemp Seed and Neem Oil. I have only added a little bit of neem oil as it is unpleasant and bitter tasting.
Neem is incredibly effective at cleansing the mouth of bacteria. I strongly discourage ingesting Neem, although they do in India, as there is some evidence it is hard for the liver to process in too large amounts. I have added Cocoa powder which is rich in theobromine and evidence suggests it is very good for teeth.
These oils loosen embedded material on the teeth as you swish the oil around in your mouth. Many people believe that the ayurvedic wisdom that this ritual of swishing your mouth with oil will also detox the body.
How to Use
I suggest a small teaspoon full is enough to be effective. Swish around in the mouth for at least two minutes and up to 15 minutes. After you are done, spit out. Do not ingest. Spit out the oil into a napkin.

Only had it for a few days, but I see and feel the difference. I do it before brushing and I don’t even need mouthwash after. Usually I feel like I need mouthwash even after I do a thorough brush, but now with this

Read up on the health benefits of oil pulling and I was so happy to see you offered a product that I could try!!
I must admit that the first experience takes a bit of getting used to. Swishing a slight bitter tasting oil(not terrible, mind you) around in your mouth is an odd, textural experience. I was never one to use mouth wash, so if you are used to using that, you probably won’t have an issue.
Definitely not overpowering or medicinal in taste as mouthwash which is a plus.
HIGHLY recommend using the Blackbird Toothpaste and following up with the Oil Swish! Result: fresh, clean, mouth, teeth and gums! AWESOME!!! It even adds extra protection for my teeth as it seems to give them an extra coating, preventing build up. A whole day of clean teeth!!

I thought this would taste like cocoa, which made me wary as I am not a fan of chocolate or cocoa but it tastes pleasantly neutral and I have to say that the flavors are quite balanced. I just used this for the first time and I have to say that my mouth feels fresher and cleaner than before the oil pulling. This product makes me want to try Brenda’s Blackbird Remineralizing toothpaste. I was way off that product because it also contained cocoa however if it’s anything like the Oil Swish Pulling Oil I won’t be disappointed.
