I made too much again so it’s on sale! I love this Sea Salt Pickle Soap. Okay, I admit, it smells like cucumber and not really pickle. Very fresh, simple and clean. Sea Salt Bars are hard and cleansing. I make mine with extra coconut oil so they aren’t as drying. They are great for oily skin and a great choice for those with body acne.

SEA SALT PICKLE SOAP

Description

Sea Salt Pickle Soap

This is a fun cucumber fresh smell, perfect for summer.  Sea Salt Soaps are made with a special recipe with a lot more coconut oil in it. They tend to be a very bubbly, very hard and they tend to hold scent well.  This is a more cleansing bar than one without sea salt so great for anyone who likes to feel squeaky clean.

Moisturizing and cleansing, this bath or hand soap is super-fatted for extra gentleness.  Soaps change weight as water evaporates from them but it doesn’t change how long the last. My soaps usually weight between  from 4.5 to 5 oz.

There’s plenty of anecdotal evidence that salt can help with acne but not many studies I could fine. There’s an article discussing observations here  regarding a salt lotion. I make an Apple Cider Vinegar Lotion that helps with skin conditions.  I suspect they both work on the same principle, making the skin an unwelcome place for bacteria to grow.

Ingredients:  Saponified Oils of Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Sea Salt, Fragrance and colored Mica.

Olive Oil in Soap

Olive Oil makes a luxurious soap bar and is one of the most conditioning oils available. More exotic oils might be as conditioning but aren’t as creamy and will soften a bar while costing considerably more to make.

Coconut Oil in Soap

To achieve a soap with a rich, bubbly lather, coconut oil provides plentiful bubbles but also creates a hard bar that cleans well. In fact, coconut oil is so good at cleansing that there is a real art to getting just the right ratio of ingredients to make sure it isn’t too cleansing.,

Bubbles are Best with Castor

I use Castor Oil because it is the only oil that provides so much creamy, conditioning, bubbly goodness in such a little amount. When it comes to soap, it is truly a miracle worker.

Essential Oils and Fragrances

I prefer naturally derived smells and at least half of my soaps use only natural essential oils. If I use a fragrance, I test it on myself first. I get headaches from certain fragrances and if that occurs, I don’t use the fragrance.
