Description

Yucca Shampoo Bar for Beautiful Hair – Sulfate Free

Shampoo Bars are a really wonderful way to help the planet and your hair. This gentle, conditioning Yucca Shampoo Bar is eco-friendly and low packaging. Plus it contains no sulfates and can compete with your favorite salon quality shampoos for high-end ingredients and results.

This shampoo bar is long lasting, low packaging, sulfate free, silicone free, lye free, vegan and Ph balanced.

Yucca has been used by Native Americans to help hair grow and keep it healthy and beautiful. It is believed that some of the hair growth benefits of Yucca can be attributed to its anti-inflammatory benefits and its ability to keep the scalp healthy and free from fungal and bacterial infection.

Ingredients: Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Coco Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Cetyl Alcohol, Yucca Root, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Stearic Acid, Sodium Lactate, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Essential Oils of Rosemary, Lavender, Lime, Cedarwood & Peppermint, Glycerin, Sodium Alginate, Panthenol, Apple Cider Vinegar, Lavender Powder, Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Citric Acid and Vit. E.

I recommend you read Understanding Different Kinds of Soaps if you aren’t aware of the difference between a natural lye soap and shampoo and synthetic (syndet) soaps and shampoos. Knowing this makes it easier to figure out the best natural solution for your hair.

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate

Made from all vegetable, renewable resources, and it is biodegradable. Baby soap uses this as its primary detergent.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate

Biodegradable. Made from plants. Great cleansing, very gentle, washes off easily.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine

This biodegradable detergent, made from coconuts, works great as a shampoo. It is mild, sudsy and works great with hard water. Adding it actually improves the first two detergents.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate

This ingredient is often referred to as BTMS and I imagine you can see why. Despite its scary name,  but has a very safe and beneficial personality. Not only does it help combine the other ingredients, it is one heck of a great conditioner for hair (and skin). It is made from rapeseed but I wouldn’t call it natural. I would call it awesome because it is also the mildest detanglers out there. Some say it is a sulfate, some say it isn’t, some say it is technically a sulfate but has been rendered “safe”. It is considered biodegradable.

Cetyl Alcohol

This easily biodegradable ingredient is a moisturizing alcohol and adds hardness to the bar as well.

Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate

I love this stuff and wish I could afford to put even more in this formula but OMG is it expensive. It is a wonderful hair cleanser in top-of-the-line- shampoos. It is biodegradable, made from vegetable sources and, interestingly, smells lovely.

Additional Ingredients in my Yucca and Oat Shampoo Bar

  • Stearic Acid, this moisturizing fatty acid is biodegradable and keeps the shampoo bar hard.
  • Sodium Lactate is made by fermenting sugar and is a moisturizer (humectant).
  • Cocoa Butter
  • Shea Butter
  • Yucca Root is a traditional Native American natural hair cleanser and is believed to help hair grow.
  • Hydrolyzed Oat Protein: I hydrolyze the oats myself.
  • Essential Oils of Rosemary, Lavender and Peppermint
  • Panthenol is the B Vitamin in Pantene products: Hair loves it.
  • Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate: A necessary preservative system for this product.
  • Citric Acid: I use this to balance the Ph to a perfect level for hair.
  • Vit. E. is a great anti-antioxidant and help keep oils stable.
