Face Serum Comparison: Ingredient and Price

When developing my own Face Serum, I had an idea of what I wanted to include in the recipe however when it came to pricing, I wasn’t sure what was  reasonable. I wanted to make sure my serum was comparable (or better!) then the best face serums out there. I also wanted to make an affordable face serum. This led me to do a face serum comparison according to ingredients and price. I actually looked at many other face serums I don’t include here but the ones I included are the ones I picked for quality ingredients, good ratings and good

Is Antiperspirant Really Bad For You?

The fact is, we’re not sure. When selling my natural deodorants, people often expect me to lecture them on how bad antiperspirant is for you. I can tell I disappoint them when I don’t launch into claims about how commercially made antiperspirant causes breast cancer and the Aluminum Zirconium causes Alzheimer’s Disease. I don’t do this because whether antiperspirants definitely cause disease isn’t clear cut. Nevertheless, I argue against using antiperspirants if you can handle some wetness. There are definitely solutions that might work better for you at dealing with body odor that are also more natural. You will need to experiment

Why We Smell Bad

Under Arm Odor Apocrine sweat glands under the arms emit the chemicals that feed microorganisms that live on the skin. The average human has a lot (that is if you consider 1,000,000,000,000a lot) on their skin and hair. Usually these microorganisms are not only harmless but help keep away other, potentially more harmful, bacteria. Not everyone’s skin is able to support the same amount or types of bacteria in the same place. Skin is acidic pH4-4.5 due to lactic acid in sweat and the acid that is produced by bacteria. One particular bacteria (Staphylococcus epidermidi) lives in acidic conditions under

A Response to LisaLise’s Blog “Why Your DIY Baking Soda Deodorant is Causing a Skin Reaction “

I began researching baking soda 4 years after I had been using my own home-made deodorant for 4 years. My deodorant caused a paradigm shift in me. If I could make my own deodorant that was incomparably better than the ones I’d been buying for 36 years (I’m 50), what else existed that would work as well? While doing my research, when googling “studies on sodium bicarbonate deodorant” one of the top sites is LisaLise blog with a scathing attack on the use of baking soda. Because of my ongoing research, I come across her blog many times and each

Aerosol Antiperspirants and Axillary Granulomata – A Study

I’ve heard from several customers who tell me of their “allergy” to commercial antiperspirants. They describe swelling bumps under the arms after application. Sometimes I think they are experiencing Axillary Granulomata or Cutaneous Granulomas. I write about more this here: Cutaneous Granulomas caused by Antiperspirants. A friend of mine was relieved to find a natural deodorant that doesn’t cause this reaction. When I come across an interesting study or some information about this, I’d like to post it or post a link. I found this report regarding aluminium zirconium applied with a spray, which isn’t the common application method any
