Sassy Suzy the Goat
Sassy Suzy is named after a real goat with a lot of sass (I used to trade her milk for soap but the farm is now making their own goat milk soap with her lovely fat rich milk). And I welcomed a little sass in my Oat and Honey Goat Milk Face Soap
Goat Milk Oat and Honey Soap with Calendula
Goat milk soap is richer and gentler then regular soaps. It provides smaller more lacey bubbles and a creamier texture. While understandably more expensive to make, it is a great long lasting soap for face and hands. Goat Milk Soap is extra rich for moisture because it is rich in fatty acids. . The honey gies a lovely foam for cleansing and calendula offers soothing healing with its characteristic faint sweet scent.
We’re pretty famous in southern New Mexico for our goat and our goat milk products. If you want exclusively goat milk products check out Udder Delight in Cliff New Mexico (and tell them I sent you – I love when competitors lift each other up).
I had some of the oats in with the lye so they are hydrolyzed and the oat protein becomes more available to enrich the skin. Then I add some finely ground oats afterwards for a nice, gentle exfoliation. That’s when I add the calendula too.
Calendula is just plain old common marigold made most famoud for skin care to sooth babies bottoms in zinc cream and calendula.
We also have other lovely facial soaps for a beautiful complexion including:
- Rose Soap with Rosehip and Honey
- Bergamot Activated Charcoal
- Dead Sea Mud Soap
- African Black Soap Paste
