Made with coriander essential oil and bits of real luffa, this bar scrubs gently while surrounding you with the fresh scent of a backyard herb patch. Originally inspired by the herbs I grew myself, it’s now crafted with help from other growers, but the spirit of the garden lives on in every batch. Some say cilantro tastes like soap. I say, maybe that’s exactly where it belongs!

The Freshness of Cilantro, the Heart of the Garden

Scented naturally with coriander essential oil (the seed of the cilantro plant), this herbal blend is both stimulating and grounding. While cilantro has long been rumored to have aphrodisiac qualities, I’ll let you be the judge of that. What I can say is that My Garden Soap feels fresh, bright, and unmistakably green, perfect for gardeners, foodies, or anyone who finds peace in plants.

Whether used as a hand soap or a body bar, it’s moisturizing, cleansing, and super-fatted for a creamy, gentle feel. These bars typically weigh between 4.5 and 5oz when first cured, though older batches may shrink slightly as they dry further. The quality, however, never fades.

Why I Start with Olive Oil

Olive oil creates one of the most conditioning bars you’ll find. It’s simple, time-tested, and delivers that creamy softness everyone loves, without the price tag or the softness that comes with trendier oils. I keep coming back to it because it works.

Coconut Oil = Cleansing Power

To keep things bubbly and clean, I use coconut oil, sparingly and intentionally. It gives the lather its lift and helps the bar hold its shape. But too much can be drying, so I balance it carefully with softer, more nourishing oils.

My Promise: Organic, Sustainable Palm

Palm oil gets a bad rap, and deservedly so in many cases. But instead of avoiding it entirely, I’ve chosen a better path: supporting growers who are RSPO-certified and USDA Organic. My supplier is a proud member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and listed as a certified organic provider.

Why not skip palm altogether? Because it actually yields more oil with less land than most alternatives, making it the lesser evil when responsibly grown. Even the World Wildlife Fund supports this approach, and I do too.

Castor Oil = Lather Love

I only need a little castor oil to turn a good bar into a great one. It makes the bubbles richer, the feel creamier, and the experience smoother, especially when paired with herbs and exfoliants like garden luffa.

Why I Stick with Beeswax

Beeswax helps harden the bar, adds conditioning, and creates that signature silky glide. I’ve tried vegan alternatives, but too many are synthetic or just don’t feel right. When possible, I use beeswax from small, local beekeepers who treat their hives with care. I believe in supporting people who love their bees.
