Description

Sandalwood Soap with Turmeric

Warm • Earthy • Naturally Beautiful

I might have the best sandalwood-scented soap around. At least I think so. But really, don’t just take my word for it. Try it and see for yourself.

Not only does it smell warm and grounding, but it’s also naturally colored with Annatto, Turmeric, Madder, and Hibiscus. The result? A bar that’s as beautiful as it is beneficial.

Even better, this soap is moisturizing and cleansing all at once. It’s superfatted, meaning I’ve added a bit of extra oil to make it extra gentle on your skin. Use it as a hand soap or a bath bar. It does both beautifully. While bars may lose a little weight as they cure (that’s just water evaporating), they’ll still last just as long.

Average weight is 4.5 to 5 oz. Weight may reduce slightly as it cures, but do not worry, it only gets better with age.

Why I Start with Olive Oil

Olive oil creates a creamy, conditioning lather that is gentle on all skin types. It is not flashy, but it is one of the best oils for soapmaking, nourishing, affordable, and dependable. While trendier oils exist, few check all the boxes like this classic does.

Next Up: Coconut Oil

Coconut oil brings the bubbly! It also adds firmness and a deep-clean feel to the bar. Of course, balance is key. Too much can be drying. That is why I use just the right amount to make your skin feel clean but never tight.

And then there’s Palm.

Palm oil can be controversial for good reason. But when it’s grown responsibly, it’s one of the most efficient, eco-friendly oils available. That’s why I use only Sustainable and Organic Palm Oils from growers certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Even the World Wildlife Fund recommends RSPO-certified palm oil over replacing it with other crops that use more land and cause more damage.

I get my palm oils from a supplier who’s both RSPO-certified and USDA Organic because being eco-conscious shouldn’t mean sacrificing quality.

The Secret’s in the Castor

If you love lather (and who doesn’t?), castor oil is the unsung hero. Just a little bit adds tons of bubbles, creaminess, and conditioning. It’s basically soap magic in liquid form. ✨

Let’s talk beeswax.

Beeswax makes the soap harder, silkier, and longer lasting. I looked into vegan alternatives but they did not perform well or they felt too synthetic for my liking. Whenever possible, I source from small, local beekeepers who care deeply for their hives. Supporting them helps support pollinators, which helps us all.

Scent: Naturally Derived, Always Tested

At least half of my soaps use only essential oils. If I do use a fragrance, it’s one I’ve tested on myself first. If it causes headaches or feels too artificial, it doesn’t make the cut. Simple as that.

Ingredients:

Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut, Sustainable + Organic Palm, Castor, and Sustainable Palm Kernel; Beeswax; Fragrance; Essential Oil; Annatto; Turmeric; Madder Root; and Hibiscus.
